Not charging when on
I have an Inspiron 1100 that won't charge when it's on, it only goes on external power. In order to make it charge the battery, I have to shut it down.
What is wrong, and what can I do about it?

No, it's not that, because this started yesterday. Until then it was possible to charge the battery with the macine on.

Then your AC adaptor or motherboard will need repair; you can contact us in regards to this

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
You probably have the 70watt AC Adaptor, and it is only capable of charging (outside of trickle-charging) while the system is off.
