Testing battery
Hello.
I have Inspiron 8000 notebook. Now when I pull off the adapter/battery charger from the notebook, the system shuts down. What are the tests I can do to make sure the batteries are ok or not ok? Also, if the batteries are okay, what else can I test?
I noticed that right at the bottom of the monitor, where three leds are glowing, I can see the 3rd one (last one) blinking in orange color? What does that indicate?
What are my options here?

Other things to check ...
If you wanna... check if it is indeed the battery...borrow one of a mate or chat up the gal behind the computer store counter
Another thing is the powerbrick...these have been known to suffer from a failing in the power cord immediately behind the plug that goes into the computer...give the flex a 'wiggle' at this point and see if there is any change in the LED colours
Then there is the possibility that the charger circuit on the MOBO is U/S or loose on the board or a bad joint etc etc etc
That should keep you busy for a few....;-)
