Winsock Provider Catalog

My WIFI shows that I have excellent connection to my wireless, but computer will not go on the net, ran diagnostics for connection and it says problems with the Winsock Provider Catalog, any ideas from anybody, Thank You. Oh, Iam running Windows XP.

    To reset this, open a command prompt (start-run-cmd) and then type

    netsh winsock reset catalog

    Then reboot.

    Thanks, I tried that, then re-booted and no change,it said that catalog was re-set, but no change.
