Let's take for example this serial number :
CN-05FDDV-CMC00-8CR-204F-A06
How can I know if that the serial number is dedicated to a Monitor, Docking station, Keyboard?

The Dell part number is the second section minus the 0, so 5FDDV. Then do an internet search for;
dell part 5FDDV
The results will show the product. In this case, a Dell WD15 dock.
