Monitor just stopped working

I have no idea what the deal is but today when I went to hop on the computer, my computer monitor wasn't working. Usually it goes into power save mode and turns off and when I move the mouse it comes right back on and I am good to go. Today I came home and moved the mouse and nothing happened. Then I realized the monitor wasn't on so I tried pressing the button to turn it on and...nothing. Then I tried making sure all the plugs were tight and that the computer was on and everything was good. I tried restarting the computer and replugging in everything. Whats the deal? Its a brand new 20 inch LCD flat panel monitor. Did it just suddenly burn out? Actually that really doesn't explain why power isn't even going to the monitor because it doesn't even turn on. Whats the deal Dell. You pay 300-400 dollars for a nice Monitor only for it to die within a few months??? Can someone help maybe explain what the deal is.

    CrazyEyed,

    * Disconnect all cabling from the bottom and/or sides of the monitor (especially the power cord)
    * Plug the monitor power cord directly into a wall socket
    * While disconnected, press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
    * Reconnect the monitor power cord to the monitor
    * Try to power on the monitor. What happens
