I have never had any issues with my S2718D monitor until it didn't turn on recently. It connects via USB-C to my MacBook Pro
It is displaying the following message: "Please check if the power plug is inserted properly or if the correct power adapter is used."
I have never changed the power adapter which appears to be working fine. I have tried to troubleshoot based on what I can find online but nothing has worked. In "Read this before posting," I tried the methods that I could. I am unable to factory reset since I cannot download the MS application on provided on Mac, and I cannot get past the current screen.
The warranty is expired and Dell support is unable to offer me any help over the phone. Does anyone have any advice?
I bought this for nearly $400 with the expectation that I would be able to use it for more than three years.
* Disconnect the S2718D power cable from the wall power socket * Disconnect the S2718D power adapter from the rear DC power connector * Disconnect the S2718D power adapter from the S2718D power cable. Wait 5 minutes * Press and hold the S2718D power button for 8 seconds * Reconnect all and see if it powers on
Thank you for the response. However, that did not work.
It looks like part of the connection point in the base has been stripped (e.g. when inserting, it does not fit super snugly), although that message still comes up on the screen when I plug it in.
Is it worth taking this to a local repair shop to assess the mechanical problem?
The online documentation does not go into disassembly so Dell could not assist you there. But you might want to search eBay to see if anyone is selling the base or one for parts?
Thank you for the support - I appreciate your responsiveness. I will research any potential ways to replace the base. I see that there are some available for parts online. Please let me know if anything else comes to mind.
