S2722QC, USB-A downstream connectivity
Dears.
I have recently bought an S2722QC monitor and I have a question on downstream connectivity.
My laptop is an "acer nitro 5 an515-52" (i5 8300h, GTX 1050 Ti) and has a USB type C port that supports (quote from the manual) "Connects to USB devices with a USB Type-C connector. Supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 with transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps."
Now if I want to connect any device on my monitor so my laptop to recognize that, I understand that I need to connect the supplied USB type C cable from the monitor to the laptop. Video is connected via HDMI as the USB C on the laptop supports data transfer only .
When I do the connections as mentioned above, I always get a message that the USB device connected has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. My intention is to connect a USB HUB on connection No7 for 5 Gbits data transfer and plug any devices there. Any thoughts what I can do to resolve this? Windows is 11Home, Version 22H2

Thanks for the quick answer. I did all kind of variations with connections and I noticed the following:
- when the supplied USB C cable is connected to a thunderbolt 4 port on the laptopo (that is my work laptop), everything works fine. It recognizes all devices connected to ports 7/9 of the monitor
- When the supplied USB C cable is connected to a USB C port for data tranfer only and an HDMI cable (personal laptop), it fails to recogize any device on ports 7/9 of the monitor
- I even tried connecting downstream with a USB A in port 9 to the USB C of the laptop - still nothing
Which means that the downstream connectivty of the monitor worls only when you have a thunderbolt port and relevant cable, But what about old laptops or PCs?

Dears
It seems to work fine right now. I did not do anything that can make a difference, but apparently the USBs work with both connections. I even attached a USB 3.0 hub at port 7 and now I have 5 USB 3.0 ports!
