We have two mailbox servers configured in our envoirnemt, both the clients have been added to the group exchange_bkp. However after first successful completion of backup , on the second run backup fialed with the following error:
79248:nsrsnap:Ignoring unrecognized option 'q', use '-?' to see usage
92347:nsrsnap:***************** Snapshot Management operation has started, logging to "C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\nsr\logs\nwsnap.raw" *****************02/14/17 22:00:26.023559 [nsr/save/nsrsnap.c 611] Calling nsrrm_host
I guess we are talking about NW server and NMM 8.x, right?
If so, this indicates that the retention policy set is not the default one.
Please select "Serverless backup" as snapshot policy and try again.
If this is the case where you want to retain snapshots, then you need to adjust the snapshot policy accordingly, and also remove the variable within Application Information from NSR_EXCH_RETAIN_SNAPSHOTS=yes to NSR_EXCH_RETAIN_SNAPSHOTS=no
Yes that's Right , we are talking about NW server and NMM 8.x here.
A small confusion occurs here, as you have mentioned in your last line that if I need to retain snapshots, then I need to adjust the snapshot policy accordingly but will changing the variable within Application Information from NSR_EXCH_RETAIN_SNAPSHOTS=yes to NSR_EXCH_RETAIN_SNAPSHOTS=no retain the snapshots ?
Can you please let me know what is the current snapshot policy you have set?
If you intend to retain snapshots then yes, you need to set NSR_EXCH_RETAIN_SNAPSHOTS=yes, if you do NOT want to retain snapshots then the value should be no.
