SQL backups minimum permissions required

Hi team,

I have a customer asking for the bare minimum privileges required for sql backup and restore. They are not comfortable with granting sysadmin and full windows admin rights to the account.

They uses a service account to trigger the backups and also wanted to know if they can use a non-interactive account instead.

Thanks,

Joseph

sound like common political issue between teams. DBA team want to backup to local shares :)

to justify them that you need these rights for installation of NMM, show statistics of dedupllication for SQl client using NMM and snapshoting sql server plus file level backup of flat files. this might convince them . ;)
