Interface VLAN 3 will not become active

i have the following config:



PC6248-2(config-vlan)#

The problem is that interface vlan 3 will not become active!

 

under IP Interface config in the web GUI for interface vlan 3 is shows that the active state is inactive.  Also under RIP interface summary it shows that the link state is down and shows the ip address of 0.0.0.0, which it clearly is not.

 

This switch is in a stacked configuration with one other switch.  Both switches are 6248.

 

Please help, i need this working asap.

    Do you have an active PC or host in VLAN 3.....you need an "active port assigned to VLAN 3 to bring it up.

     

    So check which access switch ports you have assigned to VLAN 3, and make sure a host/user PC has link up in VLAN 3.
