Adding another wirless computer to a network

Hi

I have a laptop with 802.11 which i connect to the internet via a wirless modem/base station. My question is how do i let another computer conect to my wireless LAN and use my internet connection.

The second computer seems to be able to access the base station but is refused access to the internet (message = forbidden).

I have tried to read up on wirless networking, but it gets very confusing for a non tech with all these different standards and acronyms! 1 Article said I need to pay for "Internet Sharing Software", is this
true?

Thanks in advance
Simon

It would be helpful to know the make and model of your "wireless modem/base station", so we could figure out what capabilities it has.

Ok, now which model number.  There are many choices on the BT Voyager site!

Make sure that WEP encyption is not configured or you have correctly configured on the new system. Also something called MAC address filtering which should be located on the router's setup page. If it is on, then you need to enter the MAC address of the new card which is printed on it or can be accessed in command prompt but i can't remember the command to enter. You can switch off MAC filtering which will reduce security allowing any wireless device to connect.
