Light Colour Question

For the longest time, the light on my network card was green, and everything seemed to be working fine and dandy. Recently i noticed the light was orange instead of green and now i am getting less than satisfactory results from my internet connection. What does the orange light mean as opposed to the green, and are these two problems related?

    For most network adapters:

Green light = 100Mbps Connection Speed
    Orange/Yellow light = 10Mbps Connection Speed

    that's funny
when i set my network card to 100... it goes orange..
and when i set my network card to 10... it goes green

ive already resolved the issue of the slow internet anyways....
