Sudden Internet Disconnection--Please help?
Hello,
I have had my Dell Studio (w/Vista) for about a year and a half now (recently re-instated warranty and all), and loved it...
Until I moved into a new apartment. It took several calls with Comcast and Belkin, but I finally got my internet up and running very efficiently indeed.
Now, all of a sudden, over the past four days, the internet has begun to randomly disconnect on the computer. A direct line to the router didn't change the situation, and both the Belkin router and Comcast modem had green lights for go, and no other apparent problems.
So by process of elimination, it MUST be the Dell Studio. It's a 1537, if that helps at all. In any case, I am at my wit's end. Every so often, for no reason, it disconnects and goes to "local connection" (which makes no sense) instead of the little "world" icon popping back up between the two computer icons, indicating a wireless connection (which everyone ELSE in the apartment has, e.g., two other computers that AREN'T Dells that run fine).
Can anyone please help me? I've tried just about everything...
