Wireless troubles

Hello;
I've been reading posts about wireless troubles looking for an answer to mine.
I have an Inspiron 4150, 1150 Wireless card and a Dell 1184 Router. Everything was working great until I tried changing locations(I moved). Now I can't get the computer to recognize the router or vice versa.
I read a post yesterday and collected some numbers that will hopefully be of help. The IP is 192.168.2.2, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
When I go into the network connections, it shows that I have a wireless connection, the radio signal is excellent, but when I try to go online, I can't.
If I connect the ethernet cable directly to the laptop I can get online. I've tried connecting the laptop to the router to the modem, but I still can't get online.
I hope this is enough info and someone could help me.
I posted this in the new users section and tried disabling my Windows firewall to see if I could connect, but it didn't work.
Another suggestion was this:

(It is possible there is interference at your new location, such as a neighbor with a 2.4 Ghz cordless phone, causing problems.
When connected by your LAN cable, go into your router settings and try changing the wireless channel. See if your wireless will connect on a different channel.), but I don't know how to get to my routers settings.
Perhaps someone in this forum would have some ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Jonell

    Are you resetting the modem when you change the device connected to it?  You are getting a proper IP address from your router, but if your router is not getting an IP address from your modem, you are dead in the water.   You router will not get an IP address from the modem if it was connected to another device without first shutting it down for 5 minutes, then turning it, waiting another few minutes, then turning on the router.

    This is the advise I got from JackShack and it worked!
    Thanks for your response.

    ( The only question I could think to ask is if you are certain you are turning everything on in the right order.  Should be modem, router, computer so the addresses can be properly learned.  Still sounds like your wireless is working fine.  Otherwise replacing the router as DaGeezerus suggested makes perfect sense)
