Adding Drives to a Poweredge T300

I have a T300 with 2 250GB Sata drives in a RAID 1 setup running Windows server 2008.  The controller being used is a SAS6/IR, ADAPTER..  I would like to had additional storage space but I am not sure what this controller will handle.  Can i add another pair of the 250GB Sata drives in a Raid1 and add it to the existing drives without rebuilding the raid or will they need to be a separate volume.  Also can I use larger drives if needed.

    The maximum amount of supported drives in the server is 4, so you should be able to add 2 more. The maximum supported drive size is 2TB, so yes you can get larger than 250GB drives. RAID 1 is 2 drives and 2 drives only, so no, you cannot add the new drives to the existing array. The new drives will need to be in a new RAID 0, 1, or in non-RAID mode. You will not need to change anything with the current RAID 1 unless you want to.

    You can configure the RAID through the controller BIOS during boot, or using OpenManage Server Administrator from within the operating system.

    Is the Raid setup using the software that comes with the controller or by accessing firm ware or is it a Windows server setup.
