PE2600 RAID Battery Needs Replacement
Hello,
I have four PowerEdge 2600 servers with a same problem.
Properties on my RAID Perc 4/Di controller show the message "Battery Needs Replacement"
It was very strange for me that I had same message on four servers simultaneously and there was no any warning in logs. So, I did system update (BIOS, Firmware, RAID Firmware and driver) on the last release, but the problem stayed.
I tried to replace RAID battery on two of the four servers but without any results.
I don't believe that the RAID battery is a problem (I check the voltage on old battery, it's OK), but I want to eliminate that message.

Dragan again.
Some later, I replaced the MB on one of the servers, but the batery problem stayed. I had a some other problems on that server, so I did the reinstallation of W2K3 OS.
Very strange, but after that (OS reinstallation) the batery problem disappeared. I'd like to notice that I did the reinstallation on server with a new MB.
I still have a problem on the other servers. I'm not sure that I'll be able to do same on some other servers.
I find document about ROMB and PE2600 problems also, but I can't find it now.

It seems as if the SP1 for windows 2003 server is not exactly compatible with open array manager. Microsoft are working on a patch and it should be ready for the end of the month so i am just going to wait for the results of the patch as I sure my battery is fine.

I had the same problem.
Had to get the dell engineer to replace the motherboard eventually. Now I have another poweredge 2600 stating that it requires a new battery.
I had updated all the firmware and array software on all my servers when I got the first problem on the previous server and it still didn't resolve the problem. This server was fine at the time with the updated software, but now it wants a replacement battery. Talking to dell right now but luckily I am still under warranty and I will just replace the motherboard.
I will reply if they have any feedback.
