Remote Console Switch Software Generates Mass Traffic

I am using the Remote Console Switch Software (used both v. 1.0b and 1.1) to connect to my 2161DS Switch.

My situation is as follows:

RCS Software installed on Client on Subnet1 -> SwitchA -> Subnet2 -> 2161DS Switch -> Servers

When I use the RCS Software on the client, it sends 2MB/sec of data across SwitchA which causes the cpu utilization of SwitchA to jump to 97%.

I was under the impression that the RCS Software would act like a terminal session, sending screenshots of the information being relayed to and from the server. And in assuming that, I did not expect it to send 2MB/sec across the line. This would kill any client using a 56K connection to connect to their servers.

I have installed the software on 3 different machines and monitored the traffic being sent from the clients through SwitchA to the Servers.

There is no question that the data is being sent from the machine with the RCS Software installed, and that the information is coming from the RCS Software - no other software is running.

Is this be design?

Is there a way to decrease the amount of information/traffic that the RCS Software sends?

Any other information and help would be greatly apprecitated.
