PowerEdge R310

Hi,

after receiving two Dell PowerEdge R 310 Servers we wanted to install Red Hat Linux 5 Enterprise with the issue that the installer does not see the drives (or raid controller).

I am aware that the PERC S100 and S200 are not supported under Linux. But how do I find out which PERC our Servers have?

Also is there a work around incase we do have the no supporting PREC.

Thanks

When booting the system, hit CTRL-R to enter the configuration utility during POST ... it should indicate in the title bar of the utility which controller it is.

As the PERC S-series controllers are only supported by Windows OS's, I doubt there is anything you can do but remove/disable them and do OS-managed software RAID.
