Precision 3650 Tower front panel headset problem

First of all, English is my second language, so sorry for any mistakes.

Last year our company bought few Precision 3650 Tower desktops and there's an issue recurring and I know how to fix it ad hoc, but I don't know how to prevent it from reappearing.

Issue:
After connecting a headset to the front panel (single minijack slot for both headphones and microphone) only headphones work, microphone is not detected.

Cause:
Windows Update driver from Microsoft is a driver only with no additional software from Realtek and the driver "thinks" by default that user connected headphones, not a headset.

Fix:
Install latest drivers from either Realtek's or DELL's website, run "c:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\Audio\Drivers\HDADrv\WIN64\RtkNGUI64.exe", select front-panel input and choose headset instead of by default selected headphones.

Unfortunatelly every time this happens, admin's presence is required (because of permissions and know-how). Is there a way to prevent it from happening? I don't want to disable updates. Is there a way (maybe registry entry? group policy? configuration file?) to either tell Windows not to update drivers for this specific device or make Realtek's default choice headset instead of headphones?

Precision 3650 Tower is our only model with single minijack slot in the front panel. Other workstations have double minijack slots and they're fine with Microsoft drivers.

I am also a T3650 user, but it does not happen without you. Maybe you can try to modify the registration file to make it invalid. I am also instructed by netizens to modify the puff sound of the speaker.

Is Dell Optimizer and Waves MaxxAudio Pro installed?

Unfortunatelly your solution works until DELL releases new drivers. Every time DELL Command | Update or Windows Update installs new Realtek Audio drivers, all Realtek apps (including RtkNGUI64) are removed and I have to install them again.

I don't know about Dell Optimizer, but Waves MaxxAudio Pro was installed by the other admin and the issue persisted. I'll try with both of those apps in the next maintenance window.

Good catch @Mary G .  So one needs a sound card to use a microphone.

Aaaand? As I already stated in my OG post, headset (not microphone alone) does work, but it requires some tweaking (i.e. installing drivers from Realtek website).

No, you can connect a microphone directly to the front single jack port and it will work (tested in real life), but again - with the same tweaking with drivers as stated in my OG post.
