a920.......please dont ignore:)

hi im new to this forum but have had a dell for a while now. about 6 months ago my a920 stopped printing...i have tried everything to get it working again but no joy at first it was a problem with the spooler but iv got that working fine now....i didnt get any software for the printer when i bought the pc so i downloaded the r60655 driver (im presuming thats all i need) and reinstalled that. when i connect the printer i get a pop up saying 'dell axim usb sync' but that sound wrong to me seeing as its a printer :-P
anyway thanks to anybody who helps......i have searched the forums about a hundred timed and have seen ALOT of people with the same problem but no-one seems to have given a suitable solution! most of the threads i looked at where quite dated though so im hoping a fix has been found by now

    the driver that you've downloaded is actually the right one.. but your printer issue is really not within the printer. the problem that you are having is most likely cause by a spyware... try downloading spybot from www.download.com. this is the exact link. here it is: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1. if this resolves your issue, it only proves that it is really a spyware issue... i've fixed most of printer issues not printing with this... =) peace out! hope this works!

    thanks for your response m8, glad someone helped:) iv downloaded the software you linked my to and ran it....the printer still doesnt print....the computer cant seem to find it:( but the scanner works fine though??
    when i plug in the printer it sais found new hardware 'dell axim usb sync' and wants the software for it??
     
    please this has been an ongoing problem and i just really wanna be able to print again:(

    My A920 printer worked fine. Then the ink ran out. Then I had a major comp crash and had to reinstall windows, etc. Later, I borrowed someone's printer (A960), installed their software and got my printing done. I gave back that printer to the owner, deleted their software, bought ink for my A920 but my comp now cannot recognize it. I don't recall getting a CD-Rom with the A920. Am I mistaken? I keep getting a request for a CD-Rom.

    i got 2 cd roms with my aio 922. one says drivers and utilities/dell photo all-in-one printer 922. the other one says drivers and utilities already installed on your computer and says it is for reinstelling the software for microsoft windows.  Hope this helps.  kathytalksalot
