My B1160 laser printer doesn't seem to have a problem printing documents, but I've tried printing from a few web pages using the print button on the page and ....nothing. They don't even seem to go into the cue. If I print to a document, I can then go back and pint the document, but that is a pain. I need to use this printer to print orders and other materials off the web a lot and this is a big time suck. Any ideas?
In the last batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.
Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.
We are having this same issue at least three of our Dell 1160w printers not printing web pages. I'm not sure if any print directly from web pages. Users must save the page as a file and then print. The typical work around is printing to a pdf writer and then printing to this printer. I'm able to print to several other printers installed directly from web pages, but not this model. Security only allows IE. I updated the print driver with no change.
