PCL XL Error Dell 1500

Have a Dell 1500 Laser printer. getting the following error

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalTag
Operator: 0x1
Position: 4053
Any ideas on how to fix this?

You can go to the Printer folder, select the P1500 PCL driver, go to "Document Defaults" or "Printing Preferences" (the name depends on the OS, but the contents are the same), Graphic tab, Graphic mode - change from XL to Raster or GL/2

Thanks for the help but got it fixed in another direction.

Actually the printer was plugged into a USB Hub. Unplugged it from the hub, uninstalled the printer and the software and rebooted connected it directly to the computer, and then reinstalled and all seems OK.
