Temperamental home printer

A problem: I have a wireless network set up at home and I just bought this wireless printer. The technician came and installed everything - the network and the drivers. However, the printer began behaving most unusually, quite temperamentaly - if it didn't work yesterday, today it will, but who knows what attitude will it have tomorrow :D Sometimes I can access the printer from my laptop and sometimes I can't. from time to time my desktop computer can't connect with it, and.... you get the picture.

Now, I've read somewhere that (God only knows why!) Internet Explorer 11 can sometimes interfere with this, so I uninstalled it, but the problem is still happening.

What could I do with this? :S

Problem with connecting to the internet using a wireless printer is usually resolved by restarting your laptop, wireless printer, and router but if that doesn't work, there are other measures that you can try:

    • Check the connection of cables
    • Disable your VPN and try to print
    • Check if the updates or installation you made recently is blocking your connection

    InxsFan,

At this point, I'm not exactly sure what is the correct answer.

Just having IE11 installed was causing the problems with printing. Removing IE11 and reverting back to IE10, the problem went away.

Now I hear that people started having problems with IE10. Installing IE11 has caused the printing problem to go away. There are an additional 2 Windows Updates, so maybe those updates corrected the printing problem.

It can also be the channel you're using in your wireless router. Channels 1, 6 or 11 give the best results, I use channel 11.

    Try these tweaks?

Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, control panel, device manager.

Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.

Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

    Restart your computer.

Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
