    Martha,

    Glad you got it working.

You should have responded at THIS THREAD, then mark the verified answer(s) on the thread(s) that help you fix your problem. That way if anyone else searches the forums, they can see what you did to get your printer working.

    Take care,

I am probably doing this in the wrong place, but I can't find a new topic link.

(Aside: I don't have a cursor on the screen. Is that normal?)

Anyways . . .I need to print a bunch of 3x5 postcards, and I can't find anything in the manual. I assume they would be put into the feeder narrow side down(?). They will all be printed with the same info. Can I load  a bunch at a time, or will that jam the printer. This are post paid (which are a lighter weight than picture postcards), so I don't want to experiment and waste them.

Please don't tell me "can't be done)! My wife will kill me for buying the cards before I asked the question;<)

    Thanx, Mike

    Mike,

What do you mean, you don't haqve a cursor on the screen?

Was looking at the Dell™ V305 Printer User's Guide and I found THIS on loading paper and origionals.

    Oh wondrous AIO guru:emotion-5:

I tried to open that page several times. Started from "manuals." Whether I selected "view" or "Download," I got a "page not found" error. I could only access these pages in any other language but English. Clicking on the link in your reply did work however.

I was able to load the cards OK but had these problems:

It took me hours to get the portrait/landscape right. The USPS postcard size was not available so I had to modify one that was close. Then, no mater how I manipulated portrait/landscape and width/length, I couldn't get the cards to print in landscape. I finally got it to work, but I have no idea what I did. I've saved the file for future use.

Somehow, while I was attempting to get the landscape mode, the layout changed to "banner." I would then go to properties>advanced>layout and select plain and the preview icon would show the single sheet of paper. But when I clicked Okay, it would switch back to banner. Now all my documents indicate banner and card stock. When I go to advanced, the layout menu is grayed out. I also tried tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver. No change.

I thought I might have made changes to "settings" on the main print page. I've never intentionally tinkered with that because whatever that was set to always worked. I selected edit, but had no idea what I should select or de-select, so didn't mess with it.

While I've got your attention  . . . . When I cancel a print job, the printer queue shows the job as deleting FOREVER and any other print jobs line up behind the "deleting" one and will not print. I can successfully cancel any other job in the queue. I have to reboot to clear the queue and that doesn't always work. The other night, I gave up and shut down. The next a.m. the queue was empty(?????)

    Mike.

    Mike,

The link in the above thread worked for me.

The deleting of a print job is easy, just run this. Delete Print Jobs

Just looked at the settings on my printer and figured out it is not a setting on the printer. Try...

Start, control panel, printers, your printer, printer preferences. There you should be able to change the settings back to paper type paper size and landscaper/portrait.

Netx time you go to print from the program you used, click file, print, make sure the proper printer is selected and then click properties. Make sure the correct settings are there, also. You may want to copy these settings because they were probably the settings you used to print the cards.

When you uninstalled the printer, did you restart your computer after you uninstalled the printer? I have fairly simple instructions located at...
