I have a Precision T3400 that I am trying to use an external - USB - biometric sensor on. I setup the Embassy Suite software and enrolled my fingerprints but when I try to logon to the machine it says "Connect Fingerprint sensor" and will not let me use my fingerprint. Any ideas?
I noticed that no one else replied yet so I will give you my two cents worth.
Since this "device" is proprietary, is it new?
Have you researched the device manufacturer's web page to loook for possible FAQ's on the device?
Have you checked to see if the device has any firmware updates or driver updates?
Since the device uses a "scanner type" of sensor, it probably relies on fairly high tech software as well.
Have you also checked "Device Manager" to check the device properties? It could have a conflict in the software causing the device to not identify properly.

Good luck.
