Thank you for your message. You can disable PC doctor from the startup tab in the task manager.

Open control panel & check if you have any option that says Dell Support Assist remediation services & uninstall the same also disable the services.

There is no harm in uninstalling the application. You can uninstall it if you do not intend to use the application.

I did uninstall  Dell Support Assist remediation services but PC Doctor Communications Manager keeps coming back on. And it does not appear in the Services listing.

I am very upset about this PC Dr thing that is now on my brand new DELL. I don't know how it got here, but it is even accessing my webcam. For WHAT? Please tell me how to get rid of this thing!! Is DELL spying on its users now? I await your reply. I don't want it on my computer

I seem to have eliminated it, it is part of the dell support assist program, id suggest in task manager on the program name, right click it and select open file location and youll see the nasty program file its like 158KB (i forgot the name but i remember the file size, already deleted it), however id suggest to completely uninstall the dell support assist program, because if there is such a poorly programed part of the program, there is likely more, whoever did the programming on that really made a mess of it for the program. there is actually 2 similarly named files when you open the file location in windows explorer, I'd delete both personally.

The file location is found under: C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/Dell/SupportAssist/

(I did not copy path so dont copy and paste but just navigate to the folder if necessary.)

Seems it worked for me. 

Type "services" in the search bar at the bottom left of the desktop. 

Open "services" app. 

Find the line with "Dell Support Assist Remediation", click on it to make it selected. 

Press the stop button at the top, it stops the service. 

Double click on "Dell Support Assist Remediation", it opens a dialog box. 

Set "startup type" to disabled. Save. 

For me it did the job. 

Ticks me off. Had the same problem. My computer was slowed to a crawl. Checked the Task manager and there it was. Somehow, someway, this program magically installed itself on my computer within the past week and I sure as heck didn't install it. I love Dell, but come on, this constant updating is just annoying and now with this assist thing, it's just ridiculous. Assist what? at slowing me down so I don't work so hard since my computer can't keep up. Spend $5K on a computer for this?? 

Need to have simple options to turn this auto update junk off. Windows is just as bad. Choosing to restart my computer when I have important files open. It doesn't properly close them and I lose information and sometimes the entire file gets corrupted because it wasn't shut down properly. These forced updates without my permission are just ridiculous. We don't need to blanking update every other friggen day!!!! Enough already. I still have my Windows 7 computer that operates better than some of my new ones because Windows and Dell LEAVE IT ALONE!!

I think you have downloaded it from the Dell website.

When you download drivers from the Dell website, there you first download dell support assist that checks the status of your already installed drivers.
