XP office activation question

My old computer experienced mysterious, seemingly unsolvable hardware issues and under Dell extended warranty I recently received a replacement (new machine: Dimension 4550, 2.5 g cpu, 533 bus, 768mg ram, 30g HD, with XP Pro SP1 -- new service tag). My question is this: The old machine came with a keyed version of XP Office small business 2002 (2 cd's). Are you telling me that I will not be able to activate on new machine? I have yet to install.

Thanks for any info in advance.

Any thought on this post? The original office XP  SBE 2002 came as an OEM with the original machine.

    lavla81,

According to this (which as I post this is down), "To activate a product over the telephone, you can call a toll-free telephone number displayed in a screen. A customer service representative will ask for the installation ID number displayed on the same screen, enters that number into a database, and returns a confirmation ID to the user. After you've typed the confirmation ID, the activation process is complete."

When you contact Microsoft via telephone you can explain your situation and you should be allowed to activate Office on the new computer.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.
