Back again

I replaced the 160 GB drive in my Inspiron 2600 with a brand new 80 GB traveldrive.  I tried to install Windows XP and the screen froze on the EULA.  So, I restarted the computer and now all I get after booting up is a blinking cursor.  I pressed F2 to check the stats and the drive is detected.  Anyone know what the issue is now?  Any suggestions?

The blinking underscore on these systems can indicate a mainboard failure.

It can also suggest a hard drive failure.
