hard drive question

Hi all:
 
Could someone help me with adding a 2nd hd as the primary and the old hd as slave and having no cds with the installation.  When I install them will it allow me to clone my hard drives or will I have to have a cd to prompt me there.

    No, not unless you buy cloning software (or your drive maker supplies it).

    Thank you,

    I was planning on using acronis to clone the hds, and using the cd-rom to boot from. So when I'm ready to partition and format do I have to have the old hd cloned or can I do that when I'm formatting the new hd.

    The cloning process will format the drive for you.
