Dell Open Manage and snmp

Hello,

we have configured the snmp agent on our Windows 2003 Server for public read access. After that we installed the Dell Open Manage Server Administrator 4.4 and we have rebooted the machine.

Now we want to read out the snmp values, temperature, fan status, array status, etc.
If we use snmpwalk with the  OID part 1.3.6.1.4.1.674, we only get the 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10893.* OID subset, not the ...10892 subset we expected for the DOMA values.

What we have to do, if we want to see all the DOMA values per snmp?

greetings
 Matthias

Hi Matthias, I had a similar problem with Win2K. It might have been because I installed OM, then changed my community name in windows snmp, then tried to walk the oids (got same result as you). I figured it was something to do with the dell dcsnmpd helper so I restarted the OM installer, hit "repair", and now it works.

    hope this helps,

    Trevor

    Hi Trvor,

thanks for your hint. Stange thing, we also added a new community name and after that, we could read all snmp values. Also for the public community, which exists before the OMA Install.

    Thanks again
     Matthias
