Venue 8 Pro bluetooth PAN problems
I've been trying to fix this for two days now without luck. I set up a bluetooth personal area network connection between my Venue 8 Pro and my Samsung Galaxy S4 for Internet access (it consumes much less battery on my S4 than WiFi tethering) and the first time it connected fine without any problem. Unfortunately after a reboot of the Venue it seems to have forgotten that the S4 has the 'Access Point' service, and only shows 'Direct Connection' in the PAN options; picking this results in a "connection successful" message but immediately disconnects.
I've tried everything I can think of to get this working - deleted and re-added the S4, uninstalled the bluetooth drivers and allowed Windows to reinstall them, tried the Atheros AR3002 drivers from atheros.cz rather than the Microsoft ones, enabled/disabled bluetooth tethering and rebooted my S4 several times, and so on but nothing helps. Does anyone have any ideas?

Really? Nobody else has come across this? I presume it's a Microsoft stack problem, but unfortunately the AR3002 in the Venue 8 Pro doesn't seem to be compatible with any other bluetooth stack on Windows.
