EMC Unity 350f Sas 3.84TB ssd 6/12Gb

Hi!
I need you help with streng case regarding disk installation in unity 350f.

I have new disk 2.5 flash SAS 3.84TB 6/12Gb and disk is installed in orginal frame disk but on frame disk I have logo 3.2TB but as I wrote disk inside the frame is 3.84TB  capacity! In the storage I see only 2.92 TB capacity available? What is wrong? Is possible that frame is not supporting this size of disk or?
So frame 3.2TB but disk 3.84tb…?

can you explain me How it works?

thank you

    Hi,

Do you have the part number or model number? It probably is the raw capacity of the drive. It probably has some reserved for wear leveling.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Hi,

https://dell.to/3OCzMkK Page 3 it does seem like it is reporting smaller than it should. Did the drive come from Dell?

    • Yes disk is from Dell.
but is maybe disk frame is 3.2 so is not possible to reach More than 2.92 because as I wrote disk is 3.84 but frame for disk has sticker 3.2 on the front. There is any impact if i have different size of disk and different frame ??

Is it replacing one that is 3.84 or is it going to be separate?

Why I was asking is that if it is replacing a drive that currently is 3.84 it won’t have enough space. If this is the first 3.84 drive you may need to upgrade the OE to support it. However to the best of my knowledge the frame and drive should match and the frame being smaller is probably the issue.

    • It is new disk. Only difference is that disk frame  is with 3.2TB label but disk inside the frame is 3.84tb. In the unity system I see only 2.92tb so again question it is disk limitation or bad disk frame…?
