Several posters in the MBAM forum over the past few days (including myself) are reporting BSOD crashes when running the MBAM full scan. This has not been reported using the quick scan.
The author of MBAM advises that they are aware of this, working on it, and that the quick scan detects 99.9% of malware.
No one (to my knowledge) has reported a BSOD using MBAM's quick scan to date- just the full scan of v1.17. I just ran 2 quick scans, with resident protection both off and enabled, without any problems.
At any rate the author says the problem is identified, and will be fixed in the next version 1.18, due to be released any time now. I would wait for it before running any more scans.
I though so. Just initiated a full scan and got a BSOD stop 0x00000093: INVALID_KERNEL_HANDLE. I was surprised as this would ideally relate to a device driver corruption, so I decided to check here first.
Any update on the BSOD issue from MBAM ? Incidently, I ran a quick scan today after updating and got another BSOD. Am just beginning to wonder if all is right. Hope MBAM and/or this forum comes with a solution soon.
At the MBAM forums there has not been any reports of BSOD with the full scan so you should be fine to run it. If you do experience any problems with MBAM report it here (and someon can link to your post) or use the MBAM forums. They have a very responsive, accessible team.
