Adapter problems

Dell Inspiron 1501. 2gb ram. Vista home premium. Dell wireless 1490 dual WLAN minicard.broadcom 440x10/100 integrated controller.

Since installing the latest vista updates I am having problems getting further than a local connection with limited connectivity. The network adapters don't show up in the ipconfig output, yet they are present in the network connections, indicated as enabled and working correctly. I have reinstalled drivers etc but to no avail.

I have lost my restore points at present, but when I had them I was able to roll back to a date prior to the updates and everything worked fine again until the updates once again installed.

Can anyone out there offer any help or suggestions?

Alan

open windows update>click installed updates bottom left>scroll down and find the one that caused the problem and click it to highlight it blue then click uninstall. When it finishes if you found the right one click hide update.
