dos programs and vista

I recently purchased two Inspiron 1501's (Vista). When trying to run DOS programs I receive a "does not support full screen mode" error message. I've tried everything using the compatibility wizard and programs still don't run. Any suggestions?

Vista does not support 16bit programs like XP did, no 16bit subsystem anymore.  :smileysad:

There is a program called dosbox on sourceforge that was useful for dos programs in XP, not sure if they have tweaked it for Vista yet. Looks like it is mostly for games though, have a look.

They actually got Windows 3.11 for Workgroups running on it :o

Oh yeah older apps work on it too! Word Perfect, Lotus 1 2 3, etc.
