Firefox question

When Im on my Yahoo email page, I notice that sometimes I get this message: Firefox cannot establish a connection to the server at ad.yieldmanager.com. Its in a box at the side of page where an image, or ad would normally be. I wont get it right away, when I first get there. But after I check mail, and go back to my inbox, it might be there. Its not happening every time. But why am I getting this? I know it has to do with blocking or whatever, but I dont have that blocked. So the images should load. The only place this happens is on this Yahoo page. ---Whats up with this??

I tried ad.yieldmanager.com with firefox and it connected.

Do you have this issue with IE?

    In this link it states.

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at %address.
    • The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
    • If you are unable to load any addresses, check the computer's network connection.
    • If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

    Sometimes cleaning cookies helps.

tomron-- No I dont have this issue with IE7....thats why its posted as a Firefox question:) Anyway, you said you "tried ad.yieldmanager.com w/Firefox and it connected"...well, I wasnt aware that this was an actual website, if thats what youre referring to. I tried it and it didnt connect. But the other options in that frame where I get this message, like you mentioned, about the firewall, or the network connection---all of those are fine. So I dont see what could be causing it. I do clear cookies all the time. But I was thinking that at one time I may have right-clicked on an image/ad in Yahoo email, to block images from ad.yieldmanager. If that were the case, wouldnt I be able to UNblock them now? The option to do that isnt there. --Thanks for the feedback;)

Im not sure if you understand exactly what Im asking. Im not having a problem with spyware or anything, if thats why you were mentioning the google hits. I checked that out, and it had info on people who were trying to get rid of ad.yieldmanager. I never actually found this during a spyware scan. Im wondering why the images wont load where they should, instead of getting the message that "Firefox cannot establish connection w/ad.yieldmanager". I would rather just have the images load and not get that message. But why is it that, when I try to put that web address in, it says it cannot connect with that site? Thats why I was questioning before if it was an actual site, and not just some address like you see, for a tracking cookie, or similar...you know what I mean? Anyway, I just wanted to make it clear, so that theres no confusion as to what the issue is. But I do appreciate any help you can offer, thanks:)-----M.

I never heard of a single image being blocked. It seems that ad.yieldmanager is some how connected to spyware, and if thats the case why worry if it loads, maybe you are better off if it doesn't load.

I would scan with avg anti spyware and rouge remover in safe mode.

I don't think its a firewall, firefox,or even a java issue.I really don't know what else to suggest.Maybe someone else will chime in with an idea.

You can check this link, though I doubt it wil help in this case.

Thanks for that information. I just might download the AVG, thats one I havent tried yet. Ive never heard of the other one you mentioned. Im not sure if its connected to spyware, but its weird that just the images from ad.yieldmanager dont load. But like you said, maybe it IS related to spyware, and if so,then hopefully it can be detected. ---Thanks again for the feedback:)
