How to make CD drive bootable device?

I wont to run Linux from my CD. For that I need to set up my CD drive as a bootable device. How do I do it?

My machine: Dimension 4400.

Set the drive as the first Bootable device in the BIOS.

Yes, when you start you should see "F2 = Setup, F12 = Boot Menu." Select F2 then.
