I'am having problems with ie sp-1 . did a fresh reinstall of win xp home , configured everything i thought to be correct to connect to the internet. it connect's but when i try to go to microsoft update it comes up with a msn search screen saying cannot find www.microsoft .com. the funny thing about it is i can connect to www.dell4me.com but just about anything else . its a big fat ( nope ). i need to access this stuff to update the o/s  , update ie etc etc. cannot even go to aol.com to download most recent version of software. the connection is there but its like something is just blocking it or who knows. i have read posts about going to  tools / options / advanced .

i have checked this stuff out and it seems to be ok but , i do not know.
