Its been awhile since I have gotten a new laptop and I am considering a new dell laptop as I have always been very happy with Dell. In fact I have been so happy I have never owned another brand besides Dell. In the past Dell always shipped an install disc (Not a Restore disc) Then later on they made you pay $10.00 to get it. Now I am not talking about a restore disc. I am talking about a regular install disc. Every time I get a new computer the first thing I do is install a fresh copy of windows so I can get rid of all the junk all the computer manufacturers put on thier systems. This brings me to my question. I was looking around on the Dell site trying to price some laptops. I was unable to find a checkbox or any option to request an actual install disc. Did Dell quit making install disc available? If not where can I request an install disc during my online purchase? If on the otherhand Dell has quit making the Install disc available who do I need to complain to? I do not like the idea of having to buy another copy of windows to get an install disc. Thanks everyone for your time. Bill
Thank You for your reply. I want to make sure that you are talking about the Install Disc and not the Restore Disc? I want to be able to install a fresh copy of windows as soon as I get the somputer so as to remove all the junk that comes preloaded. Thanks for your reply Bill

Hi
Dell ships all consumer computers with the windows
and some of the other software disc now .
But all computers do not come with XP because it is being phased out !
If you want XP do your search to see witch ones can be bought with XP .
Good Luck
