internet options and firewall settings

In the internet options menu>connections>LAN settings, should the boxes under 'use proxy setting' be checked? Im guessing 'no', but both boxes are checked. Also, in control panel>security center>firewall settings, under the advanced tab, the LAN setting is checked, when Im thinking it shouldnt be. The ones that are checked are my ISP and my wireless connection.  If the LAN settings are supposed to be unchecked, which Ive already done in the past, why are they checked once again?

Whats up with this?:smileyindifferent:

I would go here http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_hijack  read the RED link at the top carefully, then post your Log file on that forum, you may have malware on that PC.

Unless your ISP requires a proxy, or some software you installed (security), this should not be checked. What is the address and port?

LAN in the firewall is ok.

    mombodog,

No I dont require a proxy, so Im wondering why these boxes keep getting checked again, after I unchecked them.

Thats the next part of my question:smileyhappy:

    Thanks for the feedback
