Is this a webpage or Vista problem?
After setting up my new Studio 1535 and setting up desktop shortcuts to forums, webpages, etc, i find that the shortcuts have two icons, one is a link and the other is "files" for the site. I cannot delete the files icon without losing both and they clutter up my desktop. Never had this problem before Vista.
The other issue is that my shortcuts are not connecting to some forums in real time and i must log out and in again to refresh and see new messages. Only two sites of 5 are affected, should i dump the cookies from those sites and relogin? annoying.
Appreciate any help.
I guess the easiest way to do it in firefox - that I know of, is to simply move the browser window down a bit so some of your desktop is showing. Then simply drag and drop the shortcut from the bookmarks folder to the desktop. Nothing fancy...but it works.

I concur with PcGeek11 - sounds like you used the "Web page, complete" option to save. That will produce two files - one a file folder and another that looks like an internet shortcut.
Probably the reason you are viewing the saved page...not the real current page on you forums.
The correct method is:
1. Make a shortcut in your favorites first in Internet Explorer for the page.
2. After it's saved go back under your favorites and find the appropriate shortcut.
3. Right click on it and hover over "Send To", and then click "Desktop (create shortcut)" and you're done!
