Outlook express won't embed images in mail

When I try to embed an image in outlook express I can click  on pictures.. go to the folder where my pictures are at.. and once there I try to click on the graphic  that none of the buttons will tick.. and will not add the graphic to the email... I can't even click on cancel and have to use  the task manager to shut it down... other wise it is basically frozen there.. I have it set up for html  and done everything I can  think of.. I am not new to computers.. but this is a new computer... thanks for any help you can give me.:::smileyhappy:

    barbneedshelp,

I take it you are using the word "embed" to indicate that you wish to insert a picture from files. If you are having difficulty doing that have you gone to Tools|Options|Send tab, clicked "HTML Settings" and clicked "Send pictures with messages?"

When you compose a message in OE, did you try to attach the pic ? This always works for me.

When you compose a message, move your curser to where you want to insert something. Select picture from the 'Insert' tab at the top. Browse to the location of the pic, Open, [OK] and it will be inserted. More on the help tab under 'Creating and sending E-mail messages'.

You might try an OE repair using one of the sites here. Find the easiest one:

This problem is caused by the Trend Micro PC-cillin Anti-spam software.

Trend Micro has a patch that fixes this along with some other bugs.
