Try this,

Uninstall it, reboot, and re-install it.

it came with my computer i don't have a cd for it

Go to the support page here, click on drivers and downloads, http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn

Find your machine, and proper OS, look under applications, find quickset, and download it to your desktop.

Sorry don't mean to sound dumb really dumb but what is "quickset"

Not being nuisance, trying to decide whether to download Vista that came with new Dell Dimension C521 desktop or stay with XP that came installed in computer which we bought over a year ago.  Call me undecisive.

Good informative post, thanks for your contribution.

I posted what it does on my machines.
