Restoring

I want to restore my Dell Inspiron D531 back to its original condition.

I have read and tried several things with no luck.

I have a "Reinstallation DVD Windows VIsa Home Premium 32BIT that came with my computer.  Should this work?

I started my computer with the DVD installed, pressed F12.  The following came up:

"No Boot device availabe"

What should I do?

Thank you for any advice or help.

Are you booting from the DVD?

You have to not boot from the DVD but select it after the bios screen by pressing the F12 key

    jadams92,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Does is say to strike F1 or F2 at that point?

Have you tried pressing F8 prior to Vista loading?

Backup all of your important data and files. Reboot your system and press F8 repeatedly before Vista loads until you see a text screen menu of choices. There should be one there called "Repair Your Computer". Select this option and you will see a menu of choices and the one you want is the Dell PCRestore. This will wipe your C drive and restore your system to factory software and settings.
