Runtime Error in Internet Explorer I have the solution!...
Runtime Error in Internet Explorer
I have the solution! You simply uninstall the Google Toolbar, and IE works just perfectly.
The Google Toolbar is installed with Vista (and of course IE) - so it must be a problem that you all have. The weird thing, though, was that no one at Dell could help!
I uninstalled the Google Desktop soon after (about 30 minutes) I uninstalled the Google Toolbar.
My browser worked perfectly after Google Toolbar was uninstalled - but just to make sure I also uninstalled the Desktop as that is also total junk - or at least totally unnecessary. So you may try an uninstall that.
The Dell technical support guy kept talking about spyware - that I should try a trial spyware and see if that worked. But I never got that far as the uninstallation of GT worked.
I have had the runtime error and get booted out of IE7. The Dell "expert" told me to reinstall my operating system which I did. No luck. But it has removed my printer, does not detect my audio output and has created a spooler subsystem error.
Thanks for the information on the google. I will see how I go.
After reinstalling your operating system, use the Drivers and Utilities CD (Resource CD) to reinstall drivers for the devices that came with your computer.
So printer drivers for your printer - and other drivers will be on that.
I reinstalled the driver CD after I reinstalled the Vista. No luck with recognising audio devices or printers. Now I get a spooler error which does not allow me to print.
BTW. Removal of the google toolbar solved the problem for IE7. Many thanks.
I guess I will uninstall the printer driver, go to the Dell Website and reinstall. No sure about the audio device though.
Really glad to hear that I was able to help with your runtime error problem. That sort of thing can really drive me crazy! I was especially amazed that Dell couldn't help!
Good luck with your printer-reinstallation. Your idea of how to solve that sounds perfect. I'm sure it'll work.
