When I try to run search from the start menu I get a quick flash of the hour glass then nothing.  The computer will not respond to anything for about 15 - 20 seconds then all appears ok except no search companion and no error message.  I have done multiple system restores, re-installed XP, re-updated the system, and re-installed srchasst.inf and msgr3en.dll.  I even tried to install a patch I found but the current system was better than the patch.  My ISP is AOL.  Thanks for and suggestions.
