Symantec Restore Question

It seems lke when I restore sometimes I get some dell update in the taskbar while other times not.

Also the clock is not always right.

I want to verify that everything goes back to factory defaults.

    Bronan,
    Why?  If you're talking about PC Restore to "as shipped" state, then the clock will be off by the variation from your time zone to Microsoft's default. The Dell Support Update will automatically trigger to be updated for essentially the same reason.  You're setting the system back in time as regards critical updates.

    So one can't tell the difference after a restore from the original factory settings? And any updates done would be undone after a restore? Correct?
