updating

I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 3000 and after initially setting it up, left it for a week or so. Recently returned to using it and noticed that it was informing me that it was missing some important security & quality fixes.

I have been attempting to download and install these updates to no avail. My laptop seems unable to complete these simple tasks. I resorted to resetting and hit the same wall of non-compliance. Re-booting no good either.

Can someone advise where I am going wrong, as it seems I need to install these updates before I am able to install these updates.

Since it's a brand new machine and you may not have much on it. Use Dell's cloud RESET feature which RESETS the machine to factory while downloading latest OS image.

F12 while powering on > SupportAssist OS recovery >  RESET > RESET and update.

In case you don't wanna wipe your machine.

Pause updates (settings update and security > windows updates > pause windows updates) and reboot.

Run the following tool and choose upgrade this PC now.
