vista or better xp?

was wondering, if i could choose xp instead of vista? cos would like to by a new xps m1330 notbook. ta sven

    Depends on what you want to do.  I, like many onhere, have no problem with VISTA.  If your hardware peropherals have VISTA drivers you will have no problem.  If your software is fairly new same thing.
     
    The problem most have is manfu does not provide drivers for their hardware...Not VISTA's fault.  But VISTA does have many built in drivers for hardware.
     
    So, consider age of hardware, type and what you are runng software wise on your new computer.

    We continue to order XP computers so there will be no issues.  It will continue to be sold by Microsoft at least thru mid 2008 and supported for years thereafter.
     
    That said, biznaga's advice is good, and if you are likely to have no hardware or software issues then you may wish to consider going with Vista.  Otherwise, stick to what you know works.  My two cents.

    thanks for that. i read a lot about that it is better to stay with xp.
     
    anyway, i have another question:
     
    i am in spain at the moment and would like to buy a new notebook here, is it possible to get vista or xp in english instead of spanish? my spanish doesn't exist yet...
