I just got the USB720 Broadband Access card for Verizon. I installed the software, VZAccess Manager. When I try to open the software, I get the "VZAccess Manger has stopped working" dialog box, and then I have to close the program. I tried letting windows search for a solution but nothing. Is there a way to get this software to work, or setup the usb modem manually through Vista? Thanks Chad
Assuming you are using the Vista drivers, did you install them using the "Run as administrator" option? I've forgotten this step a few times and had to reinstall software.
Right click on the installation file (setup, install, or whatever) and select "Run as administrator". No guarantee that this will solve the problem but it's worth a try.
Same problem with E1705 and Verizon Express card. No fixes. I've tried Tech Help, even giving control of my computer, remotely to tech person and only way to start Verizon Broadband is to reboot the system.
I apologize with your system and I hope we get a fix soon. P.S. I called Verizon about this problem and they said it wasn't their problem, but Dell's. And I think it is actually Dell's (and our) problem.
Post not showing up. I'll try again, only shorter. My computer has Verizon 5700 Broadband Wireless card. Won't start after sleep, only on reboot. Verizon said it's not their problem. Good luck.
Nope, no luck yet. I've tried shutting off my Firewall (only have Norton running now) and that made no difference. I've also been playing with the System Configuration and switched from "Selective Start Up" to "Normal Startup" and that worked----once. I was then able to double click on the desk top icon for my Dell Broadband Wireless Utility to get on the Internet but again, that only worked once. I am trying to get in touch with Dell Connect (again) to see if someone else can look my system over, remotely, and find a problem but I have been getting a "500 System Error" when trying to Chat with a representative. I'll try again. Be assured that if the problem is resolved I will get back to you on the fix. It may help you with your problem. Later.
I got in touch with Dell Wireless through a phone call (1-800-873-1420) and we spent quite a while going through my system setup. We even called Verizon to see if my problems were related to them but no, we discovered that there wasn't a fix for my problem and that I needed a driver fix. All my drivers were up to date and correct so I now know that I can sit back and simply wait for the driver upgrade to my 5700 Express card software. I was actually relieved to hear that because now I can stop trying to find the answer on my own.
If I were you I'd call the number above and spend a little time going through the process of elimination. Let Dell take control of your computer through your "Dell Connect" feature and watch the tech control your computer, in search of answers. Neat feature.
Any who, I hope they can help you with your situation. Good luck,
